Chia + Oat Crusted Egg White Pizza
I made this a week or so ago and realized I never posted the recipe on my blog! I loved this because it literally felt like eating pizza - the taste was so savory! I had been consuming a lot of cauliflower at the time and wanted something different for the base, and came up with this! Crisppaayyyyy. I loved the crunch from the oats and chia seeds, and the sauce was perrrrfect.Chia + Oat Crusted Egg White PizzaServes: 1
- 3 TBSP old fashioned oats
- 1 tsp chia seeds
- 1 tsp italian seasoning
- 2 egg whites
- 1/2 TBSP tomato paste
- 1 TBSP nutritional yeast
- 1.5 TBSP water
- Toppings: any desired meat and veggies!
First, prepare your toppings by lightly cooking them in a pan sprayed with a nonstick spray. The toppings can be anything you want! Some sort of meat, any veggies, maybe some pineapple even for a Hawaiian pizza! Use whatever your heart desires! I chose ground turkey, red and orange mini peppers, onion, and broccoli. Then set those to the side. Prepare the cheesy tomato sauce by mixing the tomato paste, nutritional yeast, and water. Set that to the side as well. Coat a small/medium pan with nonstick spray and evenly distribute the old fashioned oats, chia seeds, and Italian seasoning along the bottom. Next, add the egg whites to the pan. It should coat the base. Cook on a medium/low heat. Once the egg whites are almost entirely cooked through, add the sauce on top, followed by the toppings. Let cook an additional 3-4 minutes to ensure the eggs are cooked. Then enjoy your pizza!!Here's a little step-by-step picture for the entire process! Fun stuff.
