Cinnamon Maple Bacon Donuts

I rarely purchase turkey bacon because I don't usually crave it for some reason, but once I buy it, I go crazy with it!  I've been wanting to make these foreverrrrr, and I finally did! So. So. Comforting.IMG_2191Cinnamon Maple Bacon DonutsMakes: 4 donutsDonut Base

  • 1/3 cup raw old fashioned rolled oats
  • 1/2 scoop cinnamon swirl whey protein (or vanilla)
  • 1 TBSP almond meal/flour
  • 3 egg whites
  • 1/2 tsp baking powder
  • 3/4 tsp maple extract
  • 1 stevia packet
  • 2 strips of cooked turkey bacon

Cinnamon Maple Glaze

  • 2 TBSP sugar free syrup
  • 1 TBSP cinnamon swirl whey protein (or vanilla)
  • 1/8 tsp cinnamon

Preheat the oven to 350F. Grind the oats into a flour. Then add the remaining donut base ingredients except for the turkey bacon and blend again. Break up 2 strips of cooked turkey bacon and swirl it into the batter. Pour the batter into a donut mold sprayed with nonstick spray, forming 4 donuts. Bake at 350 F for 10 minutes. Let cool 5 minutes, then remove.Make the cinnamon maple glaze by mixing the 3 lsited ingredients. Evenly distribute amongst the donuts.You can top the donuts with more cooked turkey bacon if desired, like I did.
